Our bags are packed (mostly) and in a few short hours we'll be on the plane to Cali-for-ni-a. It always seems like a bit of a mad dash before a vacation, but it is so close now that I can almost feel it. We've had a pretty light summer so far, so we're looking forward to TEN whole days of travel, relaxation, exploring, food, and wine.
We'll start with two days in San Francisco where I have nothing planned other than our meals (typical). I can't wait to wander the neighborhoods and shops and see the bridge and the Pacific Ocean.
After San Francisco we'll hop in our rental car (not a convertible, unfortunately. We opted for the even cooler mid-size sedan) and take a scenic drive up to Napa (technically, we'll be in Yountville for those familiar with the area). Three days of wine tours, more great food, and some relaxation on the grounds of our beautiful hotel.
And we'll round out the trip with five days in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where we'll be joined by many friends as we all gather to celebrate and watch two of the best people get married. We're staying in a house with a few other couples and our itinerary includes white water rafting (!!), hiking, and I'm looking for a trip to the spa one day while the boys golf. I've heard Jackson Hole is absolutely beautiful; I can't wait to see it in person.
So that's the plan. We'll be back to work on August 11th which, right now, sounds so far away. Which is pretty much the best feeling ever. I plan to blog a bit here and there when we have down time, but be sure to also follow along on my Instagram.
And for those curious about our trip planning process check out these posts about how to plan a trip and how to pack for a trip.
And if I don't make it back on the internet while we're away, have great weekends and a productive week!
P.S. Don't worry about sweet Lily Mayo. She'll be holding down the fort in NYC with my in-laws who so graciously came up to dog sit. Thank you Deacon & Retta!
