weekend recap

Hi hi!  What a great weekend. Despite missing Al while he was in South Carolina with his boys, we (me and Lily, of course) got a lot done! Here are some photos...

While I was doing all of this, Al was here. What a little jerk.

Friday night I was reunited with my long lost friend who moved to Singapore, Cassidy! She's back in the US of A for her wedding (next weekend!).  We had a great dinner with the gals at Malatesta. One of those dinners where you don't realize you've been chatting for an hour after paying the bill.  Can't wait for the wedding this weekend!

Saturday morning after a long walk with the pooch, I met my friend Brooke for brunch at August. Love that open air garden in the back at August. And great baked eggs with creme fraiche and caramelized onions.

Afterwards we shopped around the West Village making our way over to Meatpacking where we decided to head up to the Roof at Catch for a few cocktails. Seriously, the day was gorgeous - if you weren't in love with New York City yet, Saturday was the day to fall for it.

I stayed in Saturday night with Ms. Mayo and, since Al wasn't there, chose to watch the most rom-com-ish movie I could find On Demand - The Vow. Wow. Don't watch that. Imagine a screen play written by several different people and no one has read the other person's part and it has no ending. That was that movie. The acting wasn't awful, just the story line. No no no. Lily didn't even make it through.

Sunday was productive! First, made a cake / destroyed my kitchen.

Second, went on a walk.

Then collapsed from said walk.

Soaked up some sun up on our sun deck. Not your average lay-out view, eh?

Gift wrapped, cake frosted, wine poured. Ready for the (belated) birthday boy!

There he is!

And ended the weekend with some snugs and Game of Thrones. Great finale, don't you think?

And now to get through this week . We have a four day week. Woop! Now to just get through this Monday.  Woof.
